Skinfood Products Re-reviewed

Friday, February 11, 2011

I thought I would review these items again since I did them on my LJ and now I’ll move it here! Don’t mind the watermarks. I can’t retake a new picture since I don’t have some of the products anymore or never bought a new one after that @_@.

Skinfood Black Bean Nose Pack

I actually didn’t get a full box of this, and I was glad I didn’t. My friend Leen and I shared the box. I wasn’t fond of the smell and it took some getting used to. Personally, I think these work just as well as Bioré. If these aren’t easily accessible to you I probably wouldn’t go out of the way to find them. It may look like it works better because the strip is black so all your little whiteheads/dead skin show up.

That’s my opinion though. Leen agreed with me at first but then she said the more she used it she thought maybe it did work a tiny bit better than Bioré? Another person I know asks me to help her get it every time we order haha!

Skinfood Cucumber Soothing Mask (Wash Off)

This has been one of my favorite wash off masks that I own. Just bought another one recently haha! I use it all year round. During the summer it gives a nice and cool feeling to the face. It also has a nice light scent from the cucumber. In the winter (summer time too ><) whenever my face goes crazy on me I use this to calm down my face. It definitely makes a difference because the redness would go down. Especially during monthly times @_@.

Or if you use a cleanser that’s a little drying to the face, this could also help in the calming sense. Although.. probably best if you don’t use such a harsh treatment on your face in the first place?? LOL.

Skinfood Lettuce & Cucumber Water Jelly Cream

My favorite summer time moisturizer. I would definitely not recommend this for people with drier skin as it will probably provide zero moisture for your face haha! Your skin might be suck it all up and still be thirsting for more. However, if you’re like me and your skin is combination or oily it will be a nice change in the summer time.

This is scented but I really like it. It just smells really fresh and light. Not like some that try to be fresh but still end up really heavy when too much is applied. Not that surprising though that it smells fresh since it’s lettuce and cucumber. It’s nice when I wake up in the morning, cleanse my face, and apply this on :)

As it says in the name the texture is like jelly, but not as solid. As soon as it touches your skin it turns into water. It melts into your skin making you feel refreshed.

In the winter time I switch to a different moisturizer.

Chinese New Years 2011

Sunday, February 6, 2011

Happy Lunar New Years everyone!! I’m a bit late I guess since people in North America usually don’t celebrate the same length is people in Asia do @_@.

(source)

Year of the Rabbit! I don’t think I personally know anyone that’s a rabbit. I hope everyone had a great LNY. No other holiday gets my family’s attention except when Chinese New Year rolls around. And this was our first time celebrating at home, I think. I honestly can’t remember doing a home-cooked meal for this holiday – only go to eat out. Some stuff happened during mine though so the end of the dinner was a little like WW3 so I hope everyone else had a better one :P

Something rather unexpected happen though the day right after CNY. I went to Starbucks with Leen and a woman interrupted us politely and said, “Excuse me, sorry to bother you but I know it’s Chinese New Years.” I thought she wanted to ask us something about it o_O. Then I saw her reaching into her bag and pulled out two red pockets haha. She was like, “Gung Hey Fat Choi!” I wasn’t sure if I should reply back in English or Chinese LOL. I think I stumbled and kinda did half of each.

Later when Leen and I were at T&T we were bringing it back up and Leen was like “Yeah she’s one of our MLAs (Members of the Member of the Legislative Assembly – they’re part of the government body for our province)” I was sheepishly saying how I honestly have no idea who our MLAs were LOL. Leen, the smarty pants, was like, “No.. I don’t either.. I just saw her bag say MLA.” LOL!! Yeah, was a pleasant surprise haha! The woman was actually wearing the top for traditional Chinese wear. I don’t know why I never noticed when she was sitting behind Leen in Starbucks o_O LOL.

So I was a little concerned yesterday because when I went to go check my old MSN and went through the emails I was getting notifications that people are following my tumblr account and are even reblogging some posts. My current tumblr is linked to my current email address and that’s the only tumblr I use. My old one was just left as an inactive one, I guess. I went through the emails to check which tumblr it was but none of them provided a link.

I decided to go onto tumblr and log in and see what people are following/reblogginng and I found that I couldn’t log in. My password was incorrect so I decide to reset it. When I logged on after I found the tumblr account full of entries and stuff. I would’ve just thought that someone accidentally entered in my email but then I couldn’t remember if tumblr needed email confirmation. I thought most sites do that nowadays? What was really weird is that the girl’s from my city?? That’s a hell of a weird coincidence =

For one, I’m from Canada. Two, my city’s not one of the more bigger ones so I’m a little freaked. I’m just going think of it as a really weird coincidence though since I don’t think the girl did anything with my hotmail – if she actually did hack it. I just don’t like knowing if she did know my email stuff that means she could’ve went onto my MSN too =.

Hobbies?

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

I’ve been baking/cooking a lot more recently. Funny, because to be quite honest, I’m not that into eating baked goods haha. I enjoy the occasional cupcake, cake or cookie, but a dozen of them? Cannot do. Which is why even if I enjoy baking I don’t do it as much as I’d like because the things I bake are more or less Western ones. My family doesn’t really enjoy anything other than Asian desserts LOL. Since I’m born here I’m a little bit of both. Western ones are much more sweeter. Asian ones are a lot more subtle. A little sweetness to play with your senses without going overload. You can never really complain of an Asian one being too sweet LOL…. Unless you’re old.. -cough- LOL.

I want to post some pictures up of my baking/cooking adventures, but I really suck at capturing food on camera haha!! They look rather oogly @_@. Alan’s actually quite good at both (at least compared to most people our age haha). He’s lazy but when he has all the equipment/ingredients he’ll do it haha ><. Example?

Can you tell who he was trying to make it to be? Charmander! hahaha >< I wish I can show you guys the frog he made out of a chicken and veggies! LOL

I captured these kind of right after school started up again. People are so bored and tired already after school started that everyone fled to Facebook which ended up in hilarity LOL

First one caused a shock, right? LOL!! When I was first reading it, I was like, “OMG! Why would someone post that on facebook D:???” But then at the end I was like oh.. lol so mean XD.

Ashley, Leen, and I were playing some RO (Ragnarok) during the summer on a private server. Since it was on private server we leveled REALLY quick. We were probably a couple levels away from the level cap (99) in a few shorts weeks (2?3?). We were trying to find a game close to Ragnarok since Leen’s attached to it LOL. It’s like her childhood game. We found Angels Online. I downloaded it and refused to play because it looked hella ghetto.

The whole interface was cluttered and the colours all clashed together. The words were all in the Asian-English font (Batang, etc.) like they didn’t even try on the North American version. It was “3D” but I couldn’t even turn the camera angle. Just awful…

I ended up searching for a new 3D MMO by myself and found Iris Online. I was instantly attached LOL. It’s a gypsy-themed game and you get to have your “fortune told” through their tarot cards. The characters also looked cute! That’s a bonus! LOL. On top of that you get to pick between human/hybrid/elf. Those are broken down into your more usual MMORPG classes like knight, priest, ranger, etc. Yeah, I know I’m not naming the first class ones >< but you know what I mean haha. However, it’s really not as clear cut as in some games. Like how warrior classes are for tanking or attacks, mages are for healing/attacks, etc. If you want to tank you can choose between human or hyrid. Want to be a healer? You can either be a human or elf. Mages in this game do a surprisingly high amount of damage. Their attacks that affect the surrounding area are the bain of my existence.. in the game.. LOL. Although once my Scout gets a hold of them, their hp melts away BWAHAHA. Apparently my characters in every game is always the skankier one. The way I dress to the way I sit.. LOL. My friends are always picking at my characters LOL. I didn’t choose to be skanky!!! I actually saw the search term “Iris Online Conflict Valley” on my site stats. The person must’ve been as pissed off as I was about CV. Conflict Valley.. oh, how I hate you >_>. It’s a level 30+ zone where people are free to kill each other. I like how they have no warnings for that. If Derek didn’t tell me about it after getting killed I wouldn’t know.

So.. what do I not like about it? Once you’re at the level to be getting quests for CV you really have no other quests to do. You could do dailies, but we all know how small of an amount the exp is compared to the regular quests. And by level 26 (?) you’re already starting to run dry of quests. You’ll grow tired of the repeats/dailies and feel more and more compelled to do quests at CV. Well.. don’t LOL.

1) They have no friggen limit on what level you are. Other than the minimum level of 30, you could be a level 52 strolling around killing level 31s as you please. And they do. They have this weird sense of joy charging up to a character 20 levels lower than them and killing them like a sick asshole. It is BEYOND frustrating when you’re going along as your innocent self, trying to pick a flower from the ground for your quest and BAM an asswipe runs up to you and kill you in one fell swoop. That’s CV for you.

2) Campers. When you die in CV it’s just like any other map. You spawn back at an entrance. Difference? You’ll probably die again within the second you respawn. People like to stand at the entrance, wait for someone to jump through the portal or respawn with your 0 hp and kill you to get points. What do you get for those points? Nothing. Why do they do it? Revenge. It’s a vicious cycle. There are many forums complaining about this and some immature brats comment saying “I did it because people did it to me.” Oh right, that’s what we should do. Kill the innocent people that did nothing to you. Smart. CV is really an eye opener to how many assholes are on Iris Online. I honestly thought people on this game weren’t that bad until CV. Not that I’m saying a majority of them are..

The thing is, there’s actually a 40+ area just like Conflict Valley, called Frozen Nest. If the people that are responsible with coming up with these idea thought up of a minimum, why not a maximum? They do it for battlefield, but they do not do it in Conflict Valley. Hmmm.

One of us told the GM about campers inside the portal and he said he couldn’t do anything about it unless we can give him the names of the people who are camping. Funny thing is that in Conflict Valley, IGNs do not show up. You also cannot right click them to see their info like equips. You literally have no way of knowing who the person is, that is, unless they talk on public chat so you can see their IGN.

I understand that going in their is at your own risk. I just find it ridiculous that a person will come up REPEATEDLY to kill you. They stake out at the spots where you get quests/hand in quests and just slaughter everyone. And to top it all off they don’t even give you a chance to heal. They meet you back at your spawning place and then kill you again. Really? Real mature. How cool do you think you are defeating someone with no health??? No dignity, whatsoever. If you’re going to do that, go to the battlefield. Pick on someone your own level. It’s only amazing if you’re lower level and you could kill everyone at their full hp -rolls eyes-.

Rant aside.. LOL, I really do enjoy the game. If you play and for some reason you read my blog too (:O ♥) Add me! I’m lacybebe. On Luminous Star server. That’s my Scout up thurrr. Can you see our guild, NOMNOMZ, icon? PEDOBEAR!! I actually have the words “Candy, dear?” above it now LOL.. I wanted to put “Candies, dearie?” apparently that’s too long :’( Sounds more creeper thoughhh.

Currently at lvl 38 harharhar. Been dungeoning and farming some force points.. which they’re getting rid of at the moment -sigh-. RIP Agnes.

I was hella frustrated last flag match because so many people were just standing there doing nothing. And then Agnes and enemy team were both neck in neck in flags. Both of us had the 5th flag at our base but then enemy team put it in faster LOL. I was like screaming, “NOOOOO OMG!!” You know how hard it is to farm Agnes points when your team keeps losing repeatedly?? LOL!! But at the same time I was proud because that was the first time I got so many kills HAHA. I never see Scouts in top ranks.

After I learned how to play battlefields I don’t think I’ve ever dropped to the bottom of the list in kill-death ratio. Only when my team’s sucking and I’m trying to do anything possible to get us points.

I like how the top 2 are girls BAHAHAHA.
