Pipsticks Welcome Kit

Lately I’ve been kind of obsessed with planning! I’ll probably be publishing another post to talk about that :D But onto my Pipsticks mail!

The planner community seems to love their stickers. Somehow I had stumbled onto a subscription for stickers :o. Pipsticks has 4 different subscription plans:
Pro Club Classic ($14.95/MONTH): 15+ sheets of stickers, 1 postcard, 1 quote card
Pro Club Petite ($9.95/MONTH): 7+ sheets of stickers, 1 mini quote card
Kid’s Club Classic ($14.95/MONTH): 15+ sheets of stickers, 1 postcard, 4 sheets of craft paper
Kid’s Club Petite ($9.95/MONTH): 7+ sheets of stickers, 2 sheets of craft paper
Everything is in USD.

I’ve been trying to not spend so much lately but there was a deal and I thought I’d give it a try. I didn’t know that they actually had a welcome kit for new subscribers rather than the normal monthly ones. I was kind of excited to get a monthly one after seeing previews on their instagram, but oh well haha.

They come in these cool envelopes! I was excited to open it so.. I couldn’t wait and take pictures before opening LOL.

It came with this quote card featuring a quote from Katherine Hepburn, which I think will be cute in my planner!

I’m really excited to use these in my planner too!! Love the banners and bows.

Not so into these ones haha. What am I going to use the copyright sign for =\?

Stitch and Astroboy! I don’t know who the girl in the middle is >_< If you're interested in signing up for some stickers, use my link and get $5 off :)

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser Review

Product Description

The Soy Face Cleanser from Fresh instantly whisks away everyday impurities and makeup—even mascara—without stripping the skin of essential moisture. Rich in amino acids, soy proteins support moisture retention, giving skin the appearance of elasticity and firmness while rosewater balances and tones the skin. Calming cucumber extract and nourishing borage seed oil enrich the formula, which is fragrance- and soap-free.

This product is extra gentle and ideal for all skin types. “In the early nineties, there was a buzz about the health benefits of soy, but no one was exploring its effects on the skin. We found that it is highly rich in amino acids, which help with cell turnover, and introduced soy to the beauty market in 1999.”—Lev Glazman and Alina Roytberg, Fresh Founders.

Usually around holidays (I’m not sure if it’s available regularly) Fresh includes its signature cleanser and chapstick in a set. I had gifted the cleanser to my friend who ended up gifting the set back to me haha. Guess she enjoyed it enough to get me to try it too!

I usually have two cleansers that I use daily (3 if you include cleansing oil before I do another cleanse). One I use in the morning, another at night. In the morning I prefer to use a gentler one. I don’t want my face to be too dry when I apply makeup. Whereas in the evening, I prefer one that’s a bit more powerful on the cleansing part. With Fresh’s Soy Cleanser, I would recommend using it in the morning, because it was super gentle.

In fact, it might be just a tad too gentle for me. However, I think that anyone would really sensitive skin would enjoy this. If you usually experience redness from cleansers that irritate your skin, you might want to look into this one instead. It includes soy proteins for moisture retention, rosewater to balance you skin, and cucumber extract to calm it. The thing is, my preference is towards bubbly cleansers. Ones I can work into a lather really easily. With this soy cleanser, it looks like gel, but the consistency is so light that it almost seems to disappear when I try to work it around my face. I know that products that are more natural don’t bubble up very much, and maybe that’s the case with this cleanser. But because of that, I usually only limit it to morning use when I don’t feel like that’s a bunch of dirt on my face.

It also creates another dilemma for me. Because it doesn’t lather up very much and disappear as I work it into my face, I feel as though I’m using a lot more product. I can’t tell if it’s been spread onto every part of my face. So I squeeze more out to ensure that there’s actually enough. The way that I lather up cleanser is usually first just in my hand and then I apply the bubbles to my face so that I’m not being rough with my face. But I can’t do that with this cleanser.

There’s a very, very light scent. It might just be the natural smell of the cleanser actually, rather than a scent added. But it’s not really one I was particularly fond of. I expected a light, pleasant smell. I don’t even know how to describe the smell of this cleanser, to be honest. I don’t think it’d even be the smell I’d get if I grabbed soy beans or tofu and sniffed it LOL.

I know it seems like I’m bashing the product, but I’m really not, I swear haha! I think all the points I brought up (other than the scent) are all points for people with sensitive skin to give this cleanser a try. I haven’t experienced anything bad from the cleanser so I think if you’re just looking for a no-frills cleanser, give it a go. You can even buy it in a set with their lip treatment :)
