Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment Review

Product Description

This ultra-hydrating lip treatment corrects and conditions lips for a smooth, youthful-looking finish. It is scientifically proven to repair the lips—significantly boosting moisture, enhancing volume, and improving the definition of the lip area. It is fortified with a high concentration of ultra-nourishing, age-delaying ingredients including hyaluronic spheres to penetrate the skin, fill in wrinkles, and plump the appearance of lips, and sea fennel extract to help smooth fine lines and define the lip area.

I think a few years ago Sephora gave away some Fresh lip balms as a part of their birthday gifts. It came in a pack with a tinted lip balm. For a while I was using it as my go to lip balm because of how smooth it is. It applies on the lip easily but I found that maybe because of that it also didn’t have a lot of staying power.

The lip balm has a scent but it’s one that I like. I don’t know if it is powerful enough to bother people that are sensitive to scents. I don’t smell it once it has been on my lips for a while. But because the formula is the way it is, sometimes I find myself licking my lips a lot which makes the product disappear faster and kind of defeats the point of applying lip balm in the first place lol! If I have really dry lips I feel like my lips are cutting the balm as I’m applying it and I find that I go through the product a lot faster.

I like that it is housed in metal and that the lid twists off. Once in a while lip products that have a pull off cap comes off by itself in my purse or else something heavy might cause a crack in the cap. It definitely makes the product feel more expensive to have it look like a lipstick instead.

Honestly the product claims to do a lot of things and I wouldn’t go so far as to agree to all of them. If you, however, just need a simple lip balm that has a smooth texture than you should try this out. If you tend to suffer from flakey lips or anything close, I would probably reach for a different lip balm that has better staying power (good ol’ Vaseline) until then. I still like to keep a tube on me when I’m at school because I don’t like to swipe Vaseline onto my lips with fingers at school (germs eek!!!)

Aritzia Black Friday Sale 2015

I’ve noticed an influx of visitors to my site lately looking at my Aritiza Clientele Sale post. I’m assuming everyone’s trying to find out what Black Friday deal Aritzia has this year.

Seems that everything will be up to 50% in their stores and online. Log in online with the e-mail address you usually give at the till or the one you usually use to purchase online at Aritzia to see the individual prices.

UPDATE (NOV 25, 2016): It seems that the discount is much like last year. Basically 10% off most brands on the site with 30-50% off select fall/winter items in the sale section.

Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Invisible Skin Fusion Foundation SPF 20 (02 Beige Clair) Review

Product Description

An invisible foundation that wears like a second skin. This unbelievably silky formula creates a natural radiance that captures and reflects light to reveal the look of naturally perfect skin. Imperfections are erased and coverage lasts all day long.

Between the time that I ordered this until now, Sephora has since restricted this item on the Canadian website. I’m not sure why because we stock their products at our store. I guess if you want this item when you take advantage of your VIB discount (Sephora’s Rouge members already had their sale) you would have to get this in store if you live in Canada. When I try to add it to my cart it lists the item as $69CAD so I’m not sure if that’s consistent with the price in store or not at the moment.

The foundation comes in a heavy glass bottle – a very luxurious feel. It also has a pump so it makes it easier to get the amount you need and also better for hygienic reasons. I noticed that I can’t tell how much of the foundation I’m using though even though it’s a glass bottle. I guess the color that you see is permanently painted on it.

For me, I need foundation that is light enough so that it doesn’t feel like a mask on my face, but can also cover enough of my imperfections. Guerlain did a good job with their formula and it really does feel invisible. Sometimes I forget that I have makeup on my face because I don’t feel the layer on my skin. It does, however, have that feeling at the end of a long day though. That’s to be expected though since my skin hates when I have makeup on for a long time.

A silky foundation that lasts for a decent amount of time. I wouldn’t say that it lasts all day, you would probably need to do a touch up if you’re wearing it for more than 4-5 hours. But that might just be me. My skin gets oily after that amount of time. I know some people have said that it turns matte after, but for me I still get a slight dewiness. Nothing like NARS Glow Foundation, but enough so that it doesn’t look too flat.

I like that it has SPF because I’m known for being really bad at applying sunscreen. It hasn’t bothered my skin and I have acne-prone skin.

The only think I find with this foundation that might be a negative for me is that the coverage is not as high as I would like. If you have good skin and nothing much to hide, then it would be great. If you have some spots to cover, you would probably need a pretty good concealer either under or over this foundation or else no matter how much you layer it on spots, it’s not going to hide it. I get pretty dark pigmentation after I get a pimple somewhere on my face so I like when a foundation can decently cover it up after I dab it a few times with my foundation.

Korres Nectarine Velvet Moisturizing Mask Review

Product Description

This rich, velvet-textured mask is formulated with nectarine extract — known for its high antioxidant properties — to instantly moisturize and tone skin. A unique multi-mineral complex tones as it restores and maintains hydration while deeply nourishing shorea butter softens the skin. Olive oil esters and provitamin B5 restore suppleness and provide long-lasting moisture while a cocktail of sweet almond and macadamia seed oils soothe and nourish skin. This at-home treatment is beautifully scented with the soft fragrance of sweet nectarines.

With the temperature dropping, it is about the time our skin needs some help to keep it from feeling too dry! I bought this mask because every winter I have the problem of flakey skin. I don’t have very dry skin, but it doesn’t stop certain spots on my face from flaking once the wind starts kicking up. I don’t usually prefer foundations that are aimed at people with dry skin because I end up with an oily face soon after. Instead, I like to choose skincare products that can give me a better foundation (my skin) to put makeup on.

I’ve been trying to stay with more natural skincare products for the past year or two. Not to say that all my products are natural, but I like to at least have one or two skincare products in my regime so that my face doesn’t go crazy. Korres is known for using a bit more natural ingredients in their lines so I decided during my last Sephora haul to pick this product up.

To my surprise, this product is highly scented. Anyone that is sensitive to scented products, I encourage you to stay away from this mask. Even for me, a person who likes nicely scented products, Korre’s Moisturizing Mask was incredibly overwhelming! In fact, I thought that because it’s more natural and uses nectarine extract, it wouldn’t smell so artificial. I would expect this from a drugstore brand aimed at a younger age group.

With that said, if you don’t mind the smell, the product is actually pretty good. It feels like a cream, but it is very light. Doesn’t feel greasy. And it also absorbs rather quickly into the skin so I was not left with a visible white mask on my face. I guess that wouldn’t matter if you’re putting on a mask anyway, none of us would be walking out with one on, right? haha. It was nice though, because usually wash off masks that advertises itself as a moisturizing product end up pretty oily on the face, which makes me nervous about breaking out.

After washing it off I’m always left feeling moisturized. I don’t feel greasy, I’m just left with soft skin! And it seems to have a lasting effect. I don’t wake up the next morning feeling like I need to apply it again. I would recommend applying this mask 1-2 times a week (I have combination skin). As long as you’re okay with the smell for a few minutes a week then you would be good :p
