I would like to note that because there’s only one to two sheets for each product, it’s hard for me to give a good in-depth review about how each of them perform. So my thoughts on the masks might not be completely accurate as I do not have a chance to actually use it for a longer duration.

My Scheming masks contain a lot of product. A lot of people usually seem to like when packets contain a lot of fluid so that they can use the leftover on their neck and body. So depending on your preference, that can either be a good thing or a bad thing. Personally, I don’t like when sheet masks have way too much product in the packet. I find that I have to squeeze the mask of the fluids a bit before I apply it on my face. However, if you do like having the extra product in the packet, it contains enough to probably apply to your whole body if you so choose.

The Skin Clarifying Astringent Mask has a really light scent that kind of reminds me of baby products. It was only noticeable when I was applying it, but disappears after it is on my face. The mask seemed to have calmed my skin down a bit.

The Aloe Vera + Vitamin E Mask made my skin feel a bit plumper after usage. The problem was that it seemed to leave a trail of white product after it dried up. It was most noticeable on my neck from where the product dripped while I had the mask on. Because of how the product dries up, I wouldn’t recommend using this mask before an event or going on in general. Definitely something to use before you sleep instead since you can wash it off in the morning.

With the Deep Cleansing Mask, I noticed that it left my skin with a shiny, rubbery layer. It also seemed to have left a bit of residue on my neck from the product that dripped down while I had the mask on. With this mask and also the other ones in this Refreshing & Balancing Mask Set, I did not notice any significant change.

I only had a chance to try the masks once, at most twice, so it was hard to see whether or not the masks did anything. Overall, I wasn’t wow’ed by this set from My Scheming and wouldn’t particularly recommend it. There wasn’t any mask that I thought about repurchasing or lean towards when my skin needs some extra help.

If you do decide to give it a try, I would recommend that you keep it as a part of you night skincare process since most of the masks seem leave a film on the skin.

As a side note, I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! This is my present to my readers since I have been slacking on my reviews haha! This will probably be my last review for 2014 and I look forward to writing more in 2015.

Lush Cosmetic Warrior Fresh Face Mask Review

Product Description

Spots! Oily areas! Blackheads! The frustration of having breakout prone skin can incite aggressive, ‘industrial’ type cleaning. Unfortunately, breakout prone skin is often very sensitive, so using harsh cleansers can actually make the problem worse. Don’t over attack your skin; lead it firmly down the path to salvation with Cosmetic Warrior. Cosmetic Warrior is kind to problem-laden faces thanks to moisturizing egg whites and honey, which smooth and tighten the pores, and cleansing garlic and tea tree oil for a fresh, clear, happy face.

Originally I had gone to LUSH in search of a mask that would help out my dry, sensitive skin for the winter. The sales associate had recommended me Oatifix, but unfortunately, it was out of stock at the time. I decided to go back again recently to see if they had Oatifix this time around, but it was just my luck that it was again out of stock. I was recommended Cosmetic Warrior instead.

Cosmetic warrior contains an array of ingredients to help acne-prone skin, but also to moisturize your sensitive skin. Three major ingredients included to help with the acne part are garlic, tea tree, and kaolin. Tea tree is pretty known in the western skincare world to help with blemishes. I’ve never tried skincare that featured garlic as one of its main ingredients. And kaolin is a type of clay that originated from China. I’ve tried Tarte product line that uses Amazonian clay to help keep our skin in balance.

One thing that was very noticeable when I first used the product was the smell that came out. It is not a very pleasant scent, and after I read the ingredients, I can only imagine why, what with it featuring garlic LOL. However, because of the tea tree oil, there’s also a bit of mintiness to the scent and feel of the formula. And of course, because it contains clay, it has the usual smell that mud or clay products contain.

The formula itself has a lot of chunky bits from the ingredients. I’m not a big fan of that as I’d rather all the ingredients be finely combined into the formula. I end up with bits of ingredients sticking on my face. You can feel the mintiness of the tea tree on your face, but it wasn’t irritating. The formula was a smooth enough for me to apply without too much hassle and dries in a decent amount of time.

After using the mask, I did notice the softness of my face and also my pores being smaller. Acne that I had also seemed to have calmed down a bit so it wasn’t as big. One thing I woluld say is that if you usually have a dry face, I don’t recommend this product to you.

When my face is feeling out of balance, using the mask seems to help it out. I don’t seem to be as oily. However, on days I feel more dry, it seems to make it a bit worse. I think the clay sucks the oils out of my face so when I leave it on for a little too long while going through my dry-skin period, it’s not helping.

Overall, a pretty good mask to try if you’re looking for something to help balance your skin when it’s going through its crazy phase. It’ll also help calm down any acne on your face. I wouldn’t recommend it if you usually have very dry skin or to leave it on for too long if you have combo skin.
