Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash Review

When it comes to faces with dry and oily places, it takes a clever cleanser to balance the two. This gentle, frothy face wash carefully does both jobs without canceling each other out. Skin feels comfortably refreshed after cleansing, never tight, pulled, or parched. Broad leaf kelp extract discourages excess oil production while wheat protein balances and protects dry-prone zones. Tourmaline actually makes water wetter to more easily disperse dirt and sebum down the drain. Best for all skin types, aromatic bergamot, spearmint, and lavender add pleasure to the process.

When I was suffering from horrible cystic acne, I decided to switch over to a more natural product. I had no idea what was affecting my skin the way it was and I thought I should try to use a more natural product to see if it would help. I was looking around on Sephora for a cleanser that had a good rating and came upon Origins’ Checks and Balances and decided to give it a try.

It claims to be able to give balance for people with combination skin. I have oily skin that gets flakey so I definitely needed some balance to my skin. I would say the cleanser is good in some aspects when it comes to that. First off, it does not dry out my skin after I use it. I like using Checks and Balances with my Clarisonic Mia and it foams up beautifully when used in conjunction. You really don’t even need that much product. A pea-size or less would give me a decent enough foam to work the whole face. This cleanser is pretty gentle on the skin and I think most skin type would be able to use it without any problems.

I do not think it gives any long-term help when it comes to helping my combination skin, however. Which is its only downfall, in my opinion. If you expect it to help in the long run I probably wouldn’t keep my hopes up.

It has a scent that I’m not sure everybody would love, but I have no problems with it. It’s not super strong, but you can smell it while using it. It’s probably from the floral ingredients used although I wouldn’t describe the scent as floral. More herbal with mint mixed in it.

I like using it after I use cleansing oil on my face at night to remove makeup. I would recommend this as a good everyday cleanser for all skin types, although if you have a more drier skin type, I think a cleanser with more moisturizing aspects would be better. It works great with the Clarisonic Mia if you usually like using that too. It does a great job making your face feeling clean and fresh.
