Hada Labo Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Acid Foaming Wash Review

Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Foaming Wash gently clears away excess sebum and dirt on face while removing make-up with its soft and rich foam. You need not clean your face in 2 steps.

It contains Super-Hyaluronic Acid, a hydrating ingredient, to provide deep moisturization, leaving skin suppler. At the same time, it is added with cationized hyaluronic acid to form a moisture-locking film on the skin surface. It keeps cleansed face never taut.

The slightly acidic, hypoallergenic product is free from fragrances, colourants, oil and alcohol.

Hado Labo has been making quite a name for itself in Japan and also among skincare/make up bloggers! Mostly it’s gaining a reputation for being moisturizing as it contains hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid in skincare products helps to grab moisture and look it into your skin.

I was looking for a cleanser that was gentle on my skin, yet doesn’t make me feel like there’s still makeup or grime left on my face after a long day. I didn’t expect the product to take off all my makeup since I prefer using a cleansing oil to remove it prior to washing my face with a cleanser. However, Hado Labo does make the claim! Sadly, if you expect this foaming cleanser to remove all your makeup you would probably be disappointed. If you do not remove your makeup with something beforehand you would probably see hints of makeup on your cotton pad afterwards if you usually use a toner.

Discounting that fact, to judge the cleanser as is, I think it’s a pretty decent cleanser for general daily use. It comes out in a thick, dense foam that keeps its shape unlike a lot of Western brands where the foam just fizzles out. This means that less product is needed as it continues to keep the foam as you work it into your skin. In fact, I always just use a tiny dallop and it is especially visible when I use my Clarisonic Mia with it.

It is not scented, as it mentions in the description, but there is a slight soapy scent that I can detect. Not a big deal.

My skin is left feeling clean without feeling like all the moisture is sucked out of it. But as with most cleansers I use, if I don’t quickly moisturize afterwards, it will still end up feeling like my skin is stretched. Because of that, I don’t feel that it leaves my skin feeling moisturized afterwards as it claims to do. I would assume that the hyaluronic acid that it contains would be more helpful in the moisturizers and serums as opposed to the cleanser since you wash it off right after applying.

The cleanser is a decent one if you’re not looking for a bunch of frills to go along with it. It does its job as a daily cleanser, but it does not meet the claims that its description talks about. However, if you have sensitive skin I think this will be a good one to try out regardless. I actually wouldn’t mind purchasing this again, but I would rather try out other ones on the market right now though.
