Lancôme La Base Pro Review

For gorgeous, picture-perfect makeup like a pro, this primer promises a smooth, radiant, canvas for a flawless makeup look. Lancôme’s exclusive Elasto-Smooth™ technology refines skin’s texture and diffuses light to visibly reduce imperfections with a satiny-soft finish. Makeup glides on effortlessly and color stays truer and more vibrant for that right-off-the-runway, air-brushed look that lasts until you take it off. Oil-free.

La Base Pro was, I think, one of the first primers I started using. It is silicon-based, but I don’t find my skin reacting badly to silicon-based products. Since it is silicon-based, it gives a very smooth surface for makeup to be applied upon.

I did find that makeup was much easier to apply once I started using La Base Pro. If I found that a foundation was a bit hard to apply, I would switch to this primer to see if it helped. It did help my makeup stay on longer also, but I have combination skin which means there are parts of my face that gets oily quickly. La Base Pro didn’t really help keep the oils at bay in those areas. I didn’t notice it reducing size of imperfections nor diffuse light, but since it gives your face a smooth canvas, your foundation should help hide those imperfections better LOL.

Watch out how much you squeeze out because a little goes a long way. It applies very smoothly and feels almost like you’re just applying a watery gel onto your face. Seriously, give your face a feel after you apply it to your face. I don’t even know how to describe it because it feels so soft that it’s almost unreal. Too much though might feel like you have a thin film on your face instead.

The bottle for it is very heavy, which makes it feel expensive. I wish it was an air pump instead so it gets every last bit of product, but I know some people dislike air pumps.

Overall, pretty good product and I wouldn’t mind repurchasing again in the future.
