Happy Leap Year! // Petty Customer

Really, I just wanted to have an entry on February 29th… LOL!!

Anyway, give a “work story” to give this entry a little more meat hehe.

Some people are so petty LOL. At my work there’s apparently a policy where if you paid the majority of your purchase with a gift card then we can only refund the transaction back with a gift card. I’m not sure why they have that rule. Back then we refunded it the way the person paid, I’m not sure if it’s a new policy because of so many problems that arise when we do half and half or if we just never knew the policy existed until head office told us we were doing it wrong.

Apparently a girl came to our store and tried to do a return but we told her since she paid for most of it with a gift card we would have to give her back her money all on gift card. She was so upset that she looked like she was nearly going to bawl in the store. A couple days later she brought her mom with her and thus started her vicious cycle of incessant exchanges.

For our company we allow 30 days for refund and exchange. If you took off the tag, but the items seem okay and you still have the tag with you we will still do exchanges. We have no rule about how many times you can exchange however and we don’t mark the new receipt to show it was an exchanged item.

Every week the girl comes back with her mom to try on 10s of items to exchange for the items she just exchanged for last week. It’s getting really irritating. I’m sure she takes the tags off and keeps them, wears them for a while, and then comes back to exchange them. I wasn’t there when they told her she couldn’t return her items half in cash but does a person really have to go this far to get back at us??

Subscription Beauty Boxes ;; Glymm February 2012

After seeing pictures of people receiving their subscription boxes it made my shopping gene itch. I first saw LuxeBox who offer theirs for $12/month and thought I’d maybe try them, but after checking out the stuff people got from them I decided against it. It seemed like they like to sometimes include samples that people could probably just get at the department stores or Sephora.

Another company was Topbox, who seems to offer really good stuff in their boxes, but sadly they are sold out. When you register they actually say that you’re put on the waiting list. That made others confused because last week an email was sent out to those on the waiting list letting them know that more was going to be on sale on a certain date and time. Sadly I kept thinking it said 12PM PST instead of EST.. I was so prepared. I even checked the website like 2 minutes before 12PM EST out of curiousity, but thought since it’s 12PM PST I was too early. CURSES ::tear::!! LOL! Apparently it was sold out in 15 minutes. People on the waiting list were upset because they thought it was first come first serve and that we got priority because we signed up for waiting list first. TopBox sent out an email later saying that waiting list actually just meant you get an email to let you know when it’s on sale, you don’t get special priority. Even if you actually did get your hands on a box though, you would actually be purchasing June’s – that’s how popular they are!! So surprising a Canadian one is that popular haha!

Glymm and TopBox are both $10 a month. You would think LuxeBox would offer things that are much better since they are $12 instead but lots of people have been commenting that they’re switching over to Glymm instead. Looking at pictures of what people had received in previous months from Glymm I was excited. Not as good as Topbox but better than Luxe?

This is my first month and I have to say.. I hope it improves LOL ::sweat2::. Glymm says on their website that they send out their boxes on the week of the 10th. The 10th this month was on a Friday and it wasn’t sent out so people were getting impatient. Glymm announced that they were going to send it the next week because one of the items were late in arriving to them. Monday passed, Tuesday passed, etc. They sent it out on Friday.. LOL ::X_X::. Before anyone got their tracking number for their box, we were already charged for our March box. Needless to say, some people were not happy about that. I was just thinking to myself, “I hope the items are worth the wait..” When I opened it.. I didn’t think it was haha! Soooo I hope the items next month will be worth it!

Mai Couture – 2-1 Oil Blotting/Bronzing Paper

[[ Beauty on-the-go? Mai Couture has the solution. This lightly powdered bronzing paper eliminates oil and gives your complexion a shimmery glow. No need to worry about carrying your makeup bag and brushes around with you all day. Grab a ‘papier’ and keep your face flawless. $24.00 – 100 Sheets ]]

To be honest when I opened it up I kind of tossed this aside thinking it was another card inside the box LOL! The actual product looks pretty luxurious for blotting sheets though, hey? haha! There are two sheets included for sample.

Glamglow – Tingling and Exfoliating Mud Mask

[[ Lights, Camera, Action! Designed for Hollywood’s entertainment industry, it tingles, tightens, and lightens in 15 minutes, so you’re always camera-ready. Volvanic rock, French Sea Clay, and real pieces of Green Tea Leaf will give you super sexy, super radiant skin. 50ml – $78.00 ]]

I actually see a lot of people unhappy about getting skincare products because they rather get makeup. I actually love getting skincare stuff LOL! Better to take care of skin so it’s beautiful so there’s less need to wear as much makeup right? hehe.

Sula – Natural Shadow

[[ Keep your eyes looking flirty fresh with this trendy, easy-to-use Sula Beauty shadow. Enjoy playfully pretty eye shadow in gorgeous colors. They’re long lasting, easy to blend and made with natural ingredients. 0.15oz – $8.00 ]]

This was actually a full-size product! I don’t really use eyeshadows much though haha. Will test it out anyway some time to see how it does. Although to be honest, I’m not real keen on the colour they gave us.

Burt’s Bees – Tinted Lip Balm

[[ This Tinted Lip Balm by Burt’s Bees gives your lips a hint of color with a soft sweet flavor. It was also voted Best New Lip Product by Consumers. It’s made with natural ingredients that moisturize and conditions your lips. This stuff really is the “balm”. 4.25g – $7.99 ]]

Also a full size product! It’s super red in the tube. Hopefully it’s “only a hint of color” since I’m not keen on red lips on myself ::nervous::.

So all in all, the box is worth:
2-1 Oil Blotting/Bronzing Paper: $0.48
Tingling and Exfoliating Mud Mask: $10.92
Natural Shadow: $8.00
Tinted Lip Balm: $7.99
Total: $27.39
Price-wise it was worth it especially since you get 2 full-size products. So I guess my disappointment really just lies in the products I got ::>_o::.

Let you guys know how the products are after I try them out. If you’re interested in subscribing mind going through my link to join? :D

Etude House LUCIDarling Fantastic Gradation Cheek (#2 High Pixel and Orange) Review

Dannggg that is a long name for a product LOL. I’ve been using this for like a year and it’s what I always pick to use as my blush. I’m quite obsessed with using orange/coral coloured items ::X_X::.

Initially when I bought this I was yearning hard for the Jill Stuart one, but my wallet would die on me if I bought JS’. I then saw this Etude House blush and it reminded me of Jill Stuart’s and thought, “Why not try it? I might like it.” That I did, my friends, that I did ::^^::

The packaging is cute without being over the top. The colour is a deep plum with a soft pink outline and bow. LOVE the bow ::heart2::. There’s also a mirror so it’s really handy to bring around for a touch up. I’ve put it into my makeup bag many times and I’ve never had a problem with the packaging.

There’s 4 colours in total. Can be combined to be used together as a blush or you can use two as a highlighter and the other two for contouring. I actually just swirl my brush on all of them and use it as a blush. The colours are light, but buildable so don’t be afraid of using this orange/peachy colour as your blush! You won’t get an orange streak across your face haha!

It’s a matte blush which I like. I don’t really like shimmery ones because I feel like later I look oily. On top of that I feel like glittery stuff clogs up my pores :::(:: No problems with this blush on my skin.

For some reason I’m not really into wearing pink blush, I don’t know why. I feel like I look more..glowy.. and innocent with this on LOL! It matches more with simple eyeliner and mascara as opposed to a pink blush, at least for me. After a couple hours of wearing it, it really blends in and gives a glowy look. Usually blushes don’t last very long on me and just completely disappear. However, it does fade a bit and it’s not as vibrant as when I initially apply it.

I never tried out the brush that came along with it because I already have one I like to use as a blush brush.

Pros:
* Cute packaging and comes with mirror that you can use when doing touch ups.
* Four colours for you to play around with to find a shade you like.
* Buildable.
Cons:
* Does not have a very long wearing time.

Cup of Happiness

My friend and I got the Keurig machine! Was so excited because I’ve been eying it and then Leen saw that they’re selling the B70 with 60 K-Cups and the My K-Cup was also included! I was pleasantly surprised that they included the My K-Cup because, to me, that means that they’re confident that you’ll like their K-Cups enough to keep buying it even with the free My K-Cup included.

They included a box of Timothy’s Breakfast Blend, Timothy’s Colombian Excelencia, Van Houtte House Blend, Van Houtte Columbian, and a variety box. When you register your Keurig machine with them they give a coupon code for Buy 2, Get 2 Free.

I can’t wait to try the other flavours they have! On their site they say that they have over 200+ varieties to choose from. I want to get some sample sized packs (3 K-Cups) and variety boxes so I can try more of them out at once to see what I like the most. The website says that they charge a brokerage fee for Canadian orders, but Leen never got charged that so I’m not sure if it’s because she had a coupon for a free box or what? They have free shipping for purchases over $45, but initially when you go through the checkout, it still shows the brokerage fee. The site is going by US dollars though, so be aware of that, Canadian shoppers ::bunneh::. Our dollar is pretty close right now though so good time to order?

They have good service too. Leen opened her box and found one of the K-Cup boxes dented even though the actual box carrying the Keurig machine was fine. There was coffee grounds all over and she contacted them about it and Keurig was quick to respond with a way to make it up to her.

I ordered some to try so I’ll see if I get charged the brokerage fee. Leen recommended the Green Mountain variety pack (flavoured?) so I’m definitely going to try that one~. Timothy’s was kind of light for my taste. The Colombian one was better, but their coffee is definitely weaker. If you don’t like your coffee not as strong, Timothy’s would probably be good. Van Houtte was nice though~.

In the variety box I think there was one called Caribou Caribou Blend, that one is a bit bitter. Not in the strong, enjoyable way. Emeril’s Big Easy Bold Coffee was actually really bitter. Not something I would ever repurchase. I’m reading the description and it says that it has a deep, smokey flavour. That might be why ::GAH::. Still have yet to try the other ones in the variety pack.

I’m a little disappointed that their iced teas aren’t available to Canadians. Are you guys being mean because we are a mostly winter country so you think we don’t need cold drinks ::tear::.. I love iced tea.. LOL.
